About Us

Restore Community Counseling (RCC) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, providing outpatient mental health counseling at various churches throughout St. Johns County. Our licensed and pre-licensed clinicians uphold ethical standards in their practice.

To enhance accessibility, RCC extends one no-cost session to clients before determining rates on a sliding scale, a discussion concluded by the end of the intake session. Our sliding scale rates range from $10 to $90, and the associated costs are subsidized by generous donor contributions.

Our diverse services, including individual, family, couples, premarital, group, adolescent, and infant therapy, addressing various needs. Faith-based interventions are tailored to client preferences, ensuring personalized and effective counseling support.

  • Our Mission

Restore Community Counseling actively engages in a faith-based community initiative by offering accessible and holistic mental health support.

  • Our Vision

Restore Community Counseling will redefine community mental health in weekly spaces where spiritual and mental health intertwine.

Br’Yana Chandler

Br'Yana Chandler, a Georgia native, grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. Her journey to becoming an attorney began in 2017 at Flagler College in Saint Augustine, Florida, where she pursued and earned her Bachelor's in Criminology. During her time at Flagler, Br'Yana juggled up to two jobs alongside a full course load, a challenging experience that brought her a profound understanding of the importance of mental health. She learned that nurturing mental health is not just about developing coping techniques for tough times, but it's also about finding joy and fulfillment in every aspect of life. In essence, maintaining a healthy mindset is key to thriving in all life throws at you. It opens doors to creativity, fosters the free flow of ideas, and helps build lasting, healthy relationships.

Br'Yana likens good mental health to navigating life's challenges with the confidence and assurance of military-grade equipment, never shying away from obstacles. She emphasizes the ongoing nature of this journey, remembering that mental health is a continual work in progress, with always more to learn and ways to grow.

Post-graduation from Flagler, her academic path led her to Florida Agriculture and Mechanical University’s College of Law. Here, Br'Yana keeps enhancing her mental health toolkit, learning new strategies to support her well-being and success in her everyday life and her budding legal career.

Nathan Barnes

I studied counseling at Southwestern Assembly of God University in Texas and got my master's degree from McDaniel College in Maryland. I am retired from the US Army and now work in IT in Jacksonville, FL.

Even though my current job isn't directly related to counseling, I use what I learned in my life as a board member at Bridge of Life Church and as an entrepreneur. Over the years, I've seen that people often overlook mental health because it's not as obvious as physical health issues. My experiences in Maryland schools, working as a drug counselor, and as a lead counselor assistant in Texas showed me how untreated problems can affect people from childhood to different stages of life.

I care a lot about people going through big life changes, like from high school to college, college to adulthood, or from the military to civilian life. I know that getting help for mental health can be hard because it's expensive, not always covered by insurance, or not available locally. That's why I really support Restore Community Counseling. I believe a counseling center based on faith can help people – whether they're new believers, have been believers for a long time, or don't believe at all – better than just counseling by itself. My goal for Restore is not just to provide counseling but to create strong support systems for clients to succeed in the long run.
